Applicants for Business Skills visas and more specifically people with business skills, who are currently anticipating the release of their visas, will have to wait until sometime in July to find out if their application was successful or not.

Go Matilda, which is an Australia based immigration agency, said the Business Skills project is about to reach its quota of 7,000 approved visas in the migration year 2008 to 2009. Applicants who have not been included in this period’s allocation will have to wait for the next migration year, which runs from 2009 to 2010. The immigration service will only then grant onshore and offshore business visas.

The country’s Department of Immigration and Citizenship also has other concerns apart from the basic processing of business visas within the migration year. They are also worried that there might already be too many businesses starting, which, even though they might meet the basic qualification criteria, do not generate enough new jobs once they are established.

Australian immigration officials would appreciate the patience of applicants in waiting for the results of their visa application. If any changes were to be made, announcements of the revised requirements would be declared before July. The reduced number of skills visas will only last until the economic crisis has ended. Once Australia’s economy has bounced back from the global recession, larger numbers of skilled workers will be in demand in the country.

“The land down under” as it is affectionately called Australia is both a land of excitement and opportunity. Immigration Australia has adopted policies that may seem complicated, but it provides several avenues for the potential immigrant to move to the country and enjoy the opportunities it has to offer. Does swimming on the Great Barrier Reef or surfing on Bondi Beach sound like fun or how about seeing the great monolith of Ayer’s Rock change colour in the most mystical fashion? Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane are among the world’s most bustling cities, filled with culture and energy. So what are you waiting for? The Australian visa is within your reach.

You begin the Australian immigration process by applying offshore, which is to say in your current country of residence and it is only completed successfully when you have moved to Australia. Skilled workers are needed to support the dynamic workforce and industry and in order to be able to work in Australia involves obtaining a skilled class of visa. These include the Skilled Independent Regional Visa, Skilled Independent Visa, Skilled Sponsored Visa and the Employer Nomination Scheme.

Family-based visas are also available, such as the Contributory Parent visa or the Last Remaining Relative Visa. Your spouse or unmarried partner can join you in the country by obtaining a Spouse Visa, De Facto Visa or Prospective Marriage Visa.

Australia is divided into several states or territories and State/Territory Nominated Independent Visas are available for anyone with business or investment concerns. Other business-related visas include the Investor Visa, Business Owner Visa, Business Talent Visa and Senior Executive Visa.

The maximum number of points that can be given based on English language proficiency is 25, for IELTS score of 7 x 4 or higher. For professional-level communication skills, the maximum score is 5.

After experiencing the pain of global recession, Australia seems to be getting back into shape with the number of job vacancies rising. This has been the first sign of recovery in the last sixteen months and consumer confidence, according to Sensis Consumer Report, also went up by 39%, the highest increase since last year. Many people believe that the economy will grow in the next months, but businesses and consumers need mutual confidence to keep the economy progressing. Along with signs of an improving economy, GBP records are positive and the Australian dollar has been strengthening against the US dollar, UK pound and Euro. In recent weeks, the British pound has been trading at around the two Australian dollar mark.

A healthy economy encourages new investors to come in, businesses are booming, which results in a requirement for more labour and more labour means a high employment rate. Ultimately, a high employment rate means more job vacancies, which is where immigrants come in. The construction industry has not yet fully recovered, but it’s getting there, while other trade occupations are currently experiencing shortages. Australia is currently experiencing various skill shortages, a situation that is expected to continue for some time, since Australia is only starting to fully recover. The country presently has a high demand for skilled immigrant workers and Australian immigration is expecting more applicants to have their papers processed so they can work in the country.

There are many people interested in moving to Australia. However, before being granted an Australian visa, as an immigrant, it is necessary to go through a process of assessment, during which it is decided if they can contribute to the country’s economic growth. This is usually the case if they work under any legally recognised employer contract in the country.

There are different kinds of workers that the Australian government allows to stay permanently in the country. The first group includes what are known as ‘Employer Sponsored Workers’, who are sponsored and endorsed by an Australian or oversees employer.

‘Professionals and other Skilled Migrants’ covers people who have skills needed for specific occupations in Australia. They may not necessarily be endorsed by an employer, but nevertheless will be granted an Australian visa if they meet the requirements.

The country is in need of doctors and nurses, which is why, when an applicant is a registered doctor or nurse, the consul or immigration officer may issue an Australian visa immediately.

Though Australia is a relatively under populated continent, it still has several cities, apart from the most popular ones, such as Sydney and Brisbane. Therefore, the government encourages consuls to grant Australian visas to skilled migrants who wish to work outside these major urban areas.

Immigrants who are still unsure about their preferred profession or job, can make use of the Skill Matching Database. This process assists potential migrants in determining which will be suitable to their education and employment history.

Although most Australia visas have remained unaffected, in May 2009 a number of alterations were made to Australia’s 457-visa programme. This will change the immigration policy for skilled workers within the travel, clerical and agricultural industries. Although the changes appear to be only minor, they are certain to affect applicants who are using their experience in these fields to obtain a visa.

The Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Senator Chris Evans, drew attention to sponsorship programmes and the need to create a balance between employing skilled migrant workers and Australian citizens. The changes have resulted in more strict regulations for sponsors who employ migrants. It is believed that the recent decline in the Australian economy has been the reason for the changes.

There is now concern that the continuing decrease in Australian employment opportunities will affect other sectors commonly open to skilled migrants. Currently people working in the medical profession are being sought to work in the less developed areas of the country, and this is seen as an industry that will be least affected by any changes.

It was recently reported by the Australian Bureau of Statistics that 60 percent of recent immigrants had come from Britain, with 5.5 million Australian citizens having been born overseas. With over 230,000 emigrating from the UK to Australia in 2008, there are now 1.2 million Britons permanently residing in Australia, with the majority between the ages of 15 and 34. This, of course, is good news for applicants from the UK and shows a distinct trend of UK citizens’ visa applications being approved.

Australia has seen many migrants from all corners of the world and is a country that is especially popular with people from the UK looking for a new lifestyle and better weather. The rules and regulations for applying for an Australia visa can vary depending on how long you want to stay in the country.

Work visas can be easy to obtain if you plan on staying for no more than a year to 18 months, but there is a more regulated procedure for long-term work and immigration visas. It is possible to obtain a visa through sponsorship by an Australian employer or a spouse. If you choose to take this route, you will need to gather plenty of documentary evidence to support your case. If you are applying from your home country you will also need to prove that you will be able to finance the first few months of your trip.

However, if you plan to set up your own business in Australia then you will be able to obtain a visa through the skills you have acquired or if your business qualifies for government sponsorship. Australia regularly accepts applications for certain trades people to cover the growing demand in different areas of the country, but it must be noted that the length of the visa will depend on your skill and the current demand.

People in the medical profession are usually highly sought after and this sector falls into its own special category. Australian immigration is also open to anyone who can enhance the cultural or social value of the country.

Australian immigration is growing in appeal to a large number of people for a variety of reasons. It is a huge country and many enjoy the warmer climate and space to develop their lives. This is why either making regular visits or emigrating to the country are both very popular.

Australia is rich in natural resources, which provide the country with much needed foreign income as they account for a high percentage of its total exports. It is easy to understand why so many people choose to emigrate to Australia in order to work in the open spaces where these resources are to be found.

For tourists visiting the country there are many visa options available. An ETA visa will allow anyone with a passport to stay in the country for up to three-months maximum. Anyone going there on business must apply for an eVisitor visa, which lasts for the same length of time.

Tourists wishing to stay for longer than three months can apply for a standard tourist visa for a six or twelve month period and for anyone visiting relatives, a Sponsored Family Visitor visa can be applied for, which lasts a year.

All of these visas can be applied for in London and as the process is so simple and straightforward, it is not difficult to see why so many people choose to visit this beautiful country at all times of the year. Fees are charged for the visas, but they are a small price to pay in order to visit such a wonderful country.

When moving to Australia, immigrants should seek guidance and tips regarding who are the best persons to go to for help and assistance. One easy way to do this is by surfing the Internet and visiting the sites that cater to the needs of those wanting to emigrate to the country.

Various relocation packages containing instructions are offered by such sites. One particular site is moving2australia, which offers Packages 1, 2, and 3 for immigrants.

Package 1, which is ideal for the “Do It Yourself” type of person, puts immigrants in contact with a relocation agent. The immigrant will be kept in touch with the site’s Migration Agent who will provide him with initial advice for free. The site will also recommend furniture removal companies, in order to avoid any problems with customs. It will also recommend pet carriers for transferring the immigrant’s pet safely. He will also be provided with a checklist of all the things he must do before he leaves. In addition, the site will also advise the person on how to open a bank account in Australia and how to transfer his funds. They will also arrange and book accommodation for his arrival. He will be provided with detailed information about the schools within his chosen area. Upon arrival, the site will be the one to arrange car hire. It will also take care of organising airport pickup and transfer the person to his reserved accommodation.

Packages 2 and 3 also provide immigrants with instructions similar to Package 1. Package 2 is suitable for individuals or families who are first-timers in Australia while Package 3 contains instructions for individuals or families who want to have the whole package, together with certain important variations.

A poll conducted in 2006 by the BBC revealed that more than half of the citizens in the UK want to migrate to a foreign land. The poll further named Australia as one of the more popular emigration choices. If you are one of those hoping to set foot on Aussie soil, here are some helpful tips regarding Australian immigration.

First off, you will need a visa. If you plan on staying in Australia for a short period of time, you can apply for a temporary visa. If you are sure that you want to relocate to Australia, you can choose from a skilled visa, a business visa, or a family visa, depending on your situation. Once you obtain your Australian visa – or even while you are waiting for its release – you can read up on Australian culture to prepare your mindset for your migration. It is important to remember that there are major differences in climate and culture between the UK and Australia, and equipping yourself with basic knowledge about Australia will prevent you from getting into embarrassing situations. The weather in Australia is warmer than in the UK, and Australians are known for their laid back fashion, so dress accordingly. Another thing to consider when migrating to Australia is the cost of living. Whether you will be staying there for a short while, or are contemplating permanent residence, you must establish a budget for your housing and day-to-day expenses.

One of the main reasons why Australia is a prime choice for immigrants is its relatively low cost of living. It is easy to adapt to an Australian lifestyle, and its cities have been included in the ranking of Top Liveable Cities in the World.
