Emigrate to New Zealand

In order to emigrate from your native country to New Zealand , you must first obtain an immigration visa, either online or from your local consulate. The main qualifications required to begin the application process are that you are healthy (as certified by a doctor), of good character (as certified by your local police department), and that you have a high standard of English (this level depends on the type of job you have been hired for in New Zealand ). If you meet these principal guidelines then there are several different visas that will grant you permanent residence access to New Zealand . The visas offered by New Zealand include the skilled migrant visa, the work to residence visa, the family visa, and the business visa.

The skilled migrant visa is offered to people who have certain characteristics that are deemed desirable by the New Zealand Immigration Department. These characteristics mostly revolve around whether or not the candidate is qualified for a position that is in high demand inNew Zealand , and in which there is an inadequate supply of native New Zealanders to fulfill these positions. There is a list of the professions and advanced degrees that qualify you for a skilled migrant visa at www.immigration.govt.nz/…/skilledmigrant.htm.

The work to residence visa allows certain skilled laborers to enter the country on a temporary status with the option of setting up permanent residence after a two-year period. In order to qualify for this position you must already have an offer of employment with a base salary of 45,000 NZ dollars annually in a job that is in high demand, and you must be 55 years old or younger. The family visa is designed for partners, parents, children, and siblings of New Zealand citizens. Usually these visas are issued to family members who also have offers of employment in New Zealand.

Those with a business plan and capital to invest may also qualify for a business visa, if the plan is accepted as being in the best interest of the New Zealand economy.   Most of these visas carry a small fee for the application process, although due to bilateral trade agreements, the US , Italy , Austria , Japan and Finland wave most of those fees.
