Europe Seeks Workers from India

The aging population and lack of skilled workers are just two of the main issues that continue to worry the European Unions. They constantly struggle to find skilled and unskilled workers to fill the job positions in their countries. With these in mind, the European Union is already turning its direction to hiring from non EU members. The European Union members have been constantly seeking help from third world countries in order to find employees to meet the labour demands.

The continental European Union continues to look for aid in the Asian countries, and India in particular. The workforce that it needs has been addressed by the ever increasing population of India and its expertise in the world of Information Technology.

At the moment, the MOIA or the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs has been discussing to make the migration easier and less complicated for highly skilled Indian professionals. MOIA is in the process of discussing and negotiating this with countries such as Sweden, Poland, Belgium, and France. In fact, the MOIA has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding or MOU with the International Organization for Migration or IM to assist and quicken the process of Indian nationals migrating to countries in the European Union.

According to the IOM, they will initially try this proposal with the other countries especially in the UK, Italy, Spain, Ireland, and Germany. In order to assess the needs of the mentioned countries above, a toll free hotline and a resource centre will be set up in India to provide more information.
