A US Green Card is the more popular term for LPR or Lawful Permanent Residence. The things that you will need to prepare in order to obtain the US Green Card include the form I-485. This form is the application to register permanent residence. Aside from that, biometrics data will be requested from you as well as a medical examination sheet or the form G-325A. You will need two colored photos for the form.

If you are applying for a Green Card based on a family member, then you must submit the form I-864 to be completed by your sponsor. You will need to have the evidence of inspection or admission into the United States by showing your Form I-94 or the arrival-departure record. If you seek employment while the case is being processed, you can apply for a work permit by completing and submitting the form I-765.
