Getting a South Africa Visa is not as simple as working in their offices and getting a valid passport endorsed. There is a process and there are requirements, or steps, to be followed for the final issuance of a South Africa Visa. The first step is to completely fill out a visa application form called a BI-84.
It is also required that, as a South Africa Visa applicant, one must have a valid passport for no less than 30 days for the intended stay in South Africa. The passport should also have at least two unused pages when presenting it to be endorsed by the authorities. They will either endorse the granted visa or visa refusal.
It is also required that the visa applicant pay the prescribed fee for the South Africa Visa application, if need be, because sometimes there are certain types of visas that do not necessarily require money. For example, a Kenyan who intends to visit South Africa for less than 30 days does not have to pay the visa fee.
There is also a vaccination certificate that should be submitted to the authorities, stating that the applicant has been tested for yellow fever when passing through or coming from the Yellow fever belt region and has received a clearance. The certificate must also list the TB status of the applicant.
In the visa application, it is also required to state the duration of the visit and also to include a document stating the purpose of the visit. There should also be a proof of financial capability to sustain one’s self in South Africa. This proof should be in the form of a bank statement, showing the amount of money one has in one’s bank account. This will show so that there will be less of a likelihood that one will become a burden to the government in terms of food and even accommodation. A valid return ticket must also be presented.
