So you have decided to take a trip to New Zealand. Honeymoon, holiday, or simply a weekend away, the time has come to begin preparing for that trip. And the first question on everyone’s mind is: do I need a visa?
It depends on the length and purpose of your stay in New Zealand. As a UK citizen you are allowed to stay for up to 6 months on simply your passport without needing a visa, so long as you are only going for vacation. The nature of most people’s visit is exactly that, so for the most part you won’t have to worry about any sort of special documentation.
It is recommended that you have comprehensive medical insurance for the duration of your travel aboard, regardless of your destination. With regards to New Zealand, if you are from the UK you get the same immediate medical coverage as any New Zealand citizen or resident, so should anything go wrong, you don’t have to worry.
Travelling to New Zealand as a UK citizen is just about as easy as driving across the country to visit relatives, and is absolutely pain-free, a guarantee that family vacations cannot always give. There are no restrictions so long as your visit is less than six months. So give a heavy sigh of relief! There will be no hefty amount of paperwork required to take a trip to the land of the Kiwi, and you can get straightaway to your enjoyment of all the beautiful holiday destinations that await you in the beautiful islands of New Zealand.
